Saturday:(18th Feb,2006)
This weekend was quite different than last three. For this weekend we had plans for Tirupati. But there was a chance that we might need to work on weekend, so we canceled that plan. On Friday night we came to know that there is no work for weekend. Then we decided to relax at home only. Late in the afternoon on Saturday we decided to go to Ulsoor Lake. This is good lake for evening walk or jogging. It has jogging track around it. We can get typical picnic spot like item like ‘Bhel’, ’Bhutta’ etc. We had ‘Bhutta’.
The walk was very pleasant and relaxing.
At around 7:30 it got really dark (There were lamp-posts but not lamps on that.) We left this place and went to Brigade road. This road is full of shopping Branded stores such as Rbk, Nike, Peter-England etc. After finishing our shopping we went to Restaurant called Ebony. This restaurant is open roof-top and on the 13th floor. It has a rocking lounge bar. The space is so costly; you have to take min 250 rupees coupons. We enjoyed the time in this bar. Basically we didn’t have any plans to go there but we had to wait to get the open terrace table at ‘Ebony’. Finally at 10:15 pm we got the table and we left the bar.
The restaurant food was too good. We had pastas and Cheese cake for desert. At around 12 we started back journey. This was the longest I stayed out in Bangalore.
Sunday: (19th Feb,2006)
Sunday also we didn’t have any special plans, so we decided to go to common hangout place in Bangalore that is ‘Forum mall’. We wanted to try different restaurant in our area for Lunch. We had very good lunch at ‘Spice Garden’. This is also a good restaurant.
At round 3:15 we reached ‘Forum Mall’. Here there is nothing new to do, just roam walk through shops. But this Sunday I bought a Novel written by ‘Jack Higgins’. I bought with the hope that I will start reading and try to finish that soon (As my rate of reading is slow). We took some snaps because that might be my last visit to that mall and last weekend in Bangalore. After all this we moved to ‘Lalbagh’, [http://www.discoverbangalore.com/lalbagh.htm] a botanical garden in Bangalore. By the time we reached there it was around 6:45 and almost dark. But this garden is well maintained and has lot of lighting, so there is no problem in roaming there after sun-set. This garden has one glass house. This glass house was lit up with lights. It was looking like palace. The bushes in this garden are shaped like animals such as Elephant, Bear etc. After a long walk at some point we lost the way. But finally taking reference of glass house we reached the exit. The ‘Bhel’ we got on way back was very disappointing. I tell you never eat any chat-item in Bangalore.
At end of these two days, I found that gardens and lakes enhance city's beuty and provide some relaxing moments for metro people from routine life.
