Mysore

This weekend was my second weekend in Bangalore for phase-II of the project. As expected I spent my first weekend at common hangout place, Forum and watched movie “Shadi Se Pahale”. This weekend I decided to go to Mysore. My friend Vishal works there for Infosys. Friday I came to office but GE was working from home, so was almost alone there. So I left early. I got 4pm bus at Majestic (Bus stand of Bangalore). It is 3 hours (148Km) journey from Bangalore to Mysore. As the summer already started I was expecting a hot and dry weather. But I was surprised with greenery on the road side. On the both side of the road there were green paddy fields surrounded by coconut trees. This reminded me the village in film ‘Roja’. I reached Mysore in exact 3 hours.

Saturday (Around Mysore)
I got up late on Sat morning (I will be better to say I got up in early afternoon). We had a good cricket match going on but we decided to go out and visit famous “Vadiar Palace” [http://www.karnatakatourism.com/south/mysore/]. This was my second visit to palace. Palace is still in good condition. All the paintings and color scheme used in the palace is very attractive. You could see all the heritage of Vadiar Kingdom kept here for display. When we came out all of a sudden atmosphere changed. After that next task was Go-Carting which I could not complete last because of a accident happened to me on G0-Carting trak. This time, I did not miss the chance. I completed the race.

Sunday (Visit to Infosys, Mysore….What a place to work)
At around 11am we started for Infosys campus in Mysore which is spread over 350 acres of land. After completing all security procedure I got the entry. Looking the buildings and Infrastructure they have developed in this non-Metro city I was shocked. My friend took me to employee care center, which have a sports complex and other facilities for Infosys employees.
The sport complex is amazing. It has fully equipped Gym, TT tables, Bowling ally, Squash Courts, Tennis Courts, Carom Boards, Swimming Pool, Aerobics hall, Badminton courts, Basketball courts, Cricket ground, Football ground. I don’t think any of us plat any sport other than this. This center has Book stall, Doctor, Saloon (Shahnaz Husain saloon) Pharmacy, Bank, Multiplex (Though is not fully functional as of) and General Store. The best facility I saw here was common washing area. Infosys has provided lots of washing machines where all the bachelor employees bring there cloths and keep for washing. There are around 2000 bicycles provided here to roam around the campus and keep area pollution free.
I got to know that there are around 4000 trainees, going under training here and they all stay in Hostels provided by Infosys. All training rooms, hostels and everything that is built here is beautiful and huge. Every building has some special design. Spending a day here can be experienced like stay in Holiday resort. There are lot many things to talk about this Infosys campus. This is perfect place for working as well as enjoying the life.
